We were their partners in the Parelli Collection Apparel and Accessories business at the time, having fun dressing all interested Parelli fans in colorful logo'd clothing and whatnot.
Clearly, the prospect of contributing to the overall Parelli mission of making the world a better place for horses would be better served by doing something significant to benefit the horse directly! So, we jumped at the chance to try, even though it still felt like somewhat of a risky venture. We began in 2001.
The search for saddles "out there" proved unsatisfactory. Saddle makers seemed committed to crafting saddle skeletons (trees) to fit the horse when measured standing still, at rest, when the back is down...so the saddles didn't leave enough room for all that goes on underneath there when the horse begins to move and try to "round up". Though Linda did find an English saddle that offered room for the horse, she believed that a rider balance point set further back would better facilitate rider and horse being able to move in comfort and harmony together.
The commitment to this project got deeper and more intense! After 8 attempts to construct a prototype saddle to fit the principles that Linda was committed were sacrosanct, our first successful original model was born. This had taken a two and a half year span of time, while working with top saddle makers from around the globe. We had tested results on hundreds of horses of every imaginable breed, under riders of all sorts of disciplines and levels of ability, and we pushed on doing more.
A lot has happened since then! We are happy to know that there are several thousand saddles of our ever-expanding line of styles out there making the world a better place for horses AND the riders who love them.
Partnership between humans and horses (at least if riding is involved!) is not possible without saddle tools that ENHANCE rather than detract from the pleasure of the experience for both.
